A satisfyingly weighty pen with excellent build quality and a fantastic mechanism. It feels great in hand, and a joy to write with. Only used the 5888 Black Fine Ceramic Rollerball Refills and had no issues. Here’s hoping it ages well.
I bought Lazslo to be a companion pen to some of my Tom Dixon Cog brass pencils. I love the industrial aesthetic and the magnetic twist mechanism works like a charm. I only dinged the score because of the overly stiff and unfriendly clip. Simply put it has too sharp an edge on it and it doesn’t have enough give to lift the tip over fabric hems like on my canvas tote, nor any grip because it doesn’t apply positive pressure onto the pen body. I had to detach the clip to sand down the edges and also figure out how to align the internal cam shaft correctly to reattach it. Please look into improving the clip and making a replacement available for purchase.
A little issue with customs, but they fixed it for me. I love this pen, it’s really nice. Things I would change: shorten it by about 1 inch, but the heft always me a loose grip, and the size for the cartridge choice is great, I never used this type of ink refill before and I’ve been missing out. Unlike some other pens, the tip of the refill doesn’t move around. One other thing I would change, is that when you pull out the cartridge, you can feel it scraping against the magnets, this friction rubs off the words on the cartridge which could make it difficult to replace the empty ink cartridges. I would like to see some type of sheilding there to reduce feeling like I’m gonna break the magnets the ink cartridge feels like it seats into. The tip of the pen could be a little more stubby, for people who hold their pens low to the tip, this could be an issue, especially with the weight of the pen. Thanks for the pen, it’s much nicer than the prototype I saw on YouTube. Also maybe you should have more things on YouTube, it’s only one guy from Hollywood, and your own commercials. You might look into making a version for those EDC people, they eat this stuff like candy.

The writing experience with Lazlo is just amazing. It’s a bit heavy in your hand but glides over paper in a smooth way, it’s a delight and you can’t stop writing. The only teensy thing that might need improvement - although I don’t know how it’s possible - is that some ink seems to be leaking onto the cork stand - making it blacker and blacker inside and the screw gets slightly loose over a bit of time. Tiny details, but that doesn’t affect the beauty of the object. Really glad of my purchase
I wrote a review that was critical of the customer service. I later realised I had used the wrong refill and that was what had let to the fault in the Lazlo. All is now restored and working well. The pen is great and customer service were ultimately very helpful.
I replaced the ink and in the process lost the spring rendering the pen useless. I asked for a replacement and was told that MC do not have one (accompanied with a sad face emoji) . The pen is now unusable. I am sorry that an expensive and attractive pen is now unusable and that there is now meaningful customer service available for items from MC.

Bought a Lazlo. Screw on clip fell out, I put back in only to have it instantly fall back out. Screw will not go in….Very poor customer service. Takes days to hear response. This is my 3rd item from you, but with a such an expensive pen, I do not feel I have to be the one to pay to send back. This is apparently a common problem with the pen, as there are threads and comments online talking about the same problem. I would not buy another from them, and will tell others to do the same.

I really love the pen. I like how it looks, its weight and how it feels in the hand. But the clip started to work loose after about two days. I contacted your feedback and the person apologised and give me the size of screwdriver needed to screw it back in. But he gave me the wrong size - the one he said was far too small. So I've had to bodge a repair myself. As I say, I like the pen, but the clip shouldn't be working loose and if you're giving people info about the tool to fix it, it should be correct

I like the pen but the ink it came with wasn’t working. The point of a pen was for it to write and I can’t do that until i get new or better ink.
The cartridge didn’t work. No amount of scribbling could coax the ink to flow. Replaced with a cartridge (Mont blanc) I had and the retractor end wouldn’t stay in either position unless I played with it. This was first day I received it.
I am awaiting a response for my email. I was contacted but haven't heard back in many days.

Excellent crafting for the magnetic twist mechanism. However I feel the clip should be springy, like the one on Ferrule. This super stiff clip does not grip my canvas tote pockets and fights to overcome any sewn hem. I suggest to include instructions or at least links to a video of what happens when the clip is unscrewed and how to reassemble it.

Very nice, solid weight. I was a bit dissapointed that it is a brushed finish and not polished. The mechanism is very cool and works well.
Bought the Lazlo as a Christmas present for my wife. I was amazed at how fast the delivery was, especially at this time of year. We have had an issue with the pen and I contacted Makers Cabinet by email yesterday and they answered today and we have resolved the problem, no arguments no trouble just solutions. I would give Lazlo five stars and Makers Cabinet ten stars.

Well- made, good to handle, writes well.
Not the quality that I expected. I was not aware that it was made in China which I typically steer clear of when making what I would consider a "high quality" purchase. It is heavier and not as balanced as I would like. It does not write. Something is wrong with the ink cartridge. I got about 6 inches worth of writing before it completely stopped. Unfortunately, the refills are out of stock. Also, the clip is loose and appears to be getting worse. I will need to carry a torx head driver with me now to keep it tight. If possible, I will be sending it back for a refund.
This pen is the most luxurious one I have ever held in my hand. Its weight alone makes it quite different to write with. It is beautiful and it writes beautifully. What more can you ask for?

The pen that I received appeared to be used and the clip is broken off (the screw hole for the clip appears to be chipped and stripped out). Unfortunately, without this piece in place, the pen does not function — the mechanism at the top just spins freely and does not operate to advance the cartridge from the barrel. There was also ink on the tip of the pen and barrel, and all inside of the cork drop stand. Very bad quality control for this price point. Customer support was initially responsive and asked for pictures, and even offered a replacement. But then when the time came for them to actually send the replacement, they disappeared and said “we are looking into this for you and will get back as soon as we got an appropriate solution to your issue.” Seems a bit odd, as they had already offered a replacement, but seemed to have had a change of heart. They were happy enough to quickly take my money, but it seems that they are less eager to actually stand behind their products. I was looking forward to purchasing more of their products, after having spent around $400 already, but I can’t say that I will be doing that any longer.
Wrote with it for one day and the clip just fell off of it in my hands. Tried for an hour to get the clip back on but the torx screw will not set so the pen mechanics don’t work. Definitely wasted $100+ on this purchase, which is regrettable because the pen did write nicely.

pen is beautifully made, however I have a problem when something is finely machined and the hard edges aren’t eased or de-burred. handling the pen I found the edges of the clip to be too sharp to be safe.
