ABOUT US

In 2017, three designers left art school with a simple frustration: the tools they used every day were disposable, forgettable, and unworthy of the work they were made for.

So they set out to make something different. Not just better tools, but tools that felt like they belonged in your hand. Objects with enough honesty in their making that you'd want to keep them, repair them, and eventually pass them on.

That's still what we do. Every Makers Cabinet tool begins with a question: what would this look like if it were made to last a lifetime?

THE WAY WE DESIGN

THE WAY WE DESIGN

We don't start with aesthetics. We start with purpose. Understanding what a tool actually needs to do, and then finding the most considered way to do it. Every detail earns its place. If it doesn't serve the hand or the work, it doesn't make it in.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe the objects around you shape how you think and feel. A well-made tool changes the experience of using it — it slows you down in the right way, makes you more deliberate, more present. There is joy in that. And there is beauty in it too.

BUILT TO LAST

The stationery market is built on replacement. We're built on the opposite. Our tools are designed to be repaired, not discarded — made from materials that age well and mechanisms that hold their precision for years. Buying once and keeping forever isn't just an ideal. It's the whole idea.

Our story doesn't end when a tool leaves the studio. The people who use Makers Cabinet tools — architects, illustrators, writers, makers — are part of how we think. Their feedback shapes what we make next. We're not interested in a transaction. We're interested in a relationship that lasts as long as the tools do.
