Collaborations and Design Consultancy
Makers Cabinet has earned a reputation for designing, manufacturing, and launching high-quality, sustainable, and beautifully crafted stationery products. Since our founding in 2017, we have established a network of collaborators and created bespoke designs for various brands. Below, you’ll find details on a selection of these projects.
886 by The Royal Mint
Makers Cabinet has licensed designs and collaborated with 886 by The Royal Mint. We worked closely with esteemed jewellery designer Dominic Jones to modify existing designs to match inspiration from his Tutamen collection.
We supported by equipping the manufacturing team in Wales with designs, technical drawings and manufacturing knowledge to craft the designs.
We also provided the Mint with components for the products and achieved the dream of building a range of products entirely made in the United Kingdom.
The designs can be purchased here.
Cunard Cruises
Makers Cabinet have designed and crafted locally custom stationery pieces for luxury suites onboard Cunard Cruises. The designs are used to elevate the art of letter writing whilst on board the luxury cruises.
Initially employed to design for the new Queen Anne cruise, these designs were so successful they have been rolled out across the fleet.
Makers Cabinet worked with local reclaimed wood salvagers Fallen and Felled and rising leather worker The Backward Vendor to produce the designs using entirely sustainable materials.
Are You Mad
Makers Cabinet has an ongoing collaboration with local plastic recycling collective Are You Mad. We help to design and manufacture plastic injection tool mouldings for their custom design work.
Are You Mad takes local waste dreams, cleans the materials, shreds, and then moulds them into beautiful new objects.
For Are You Mad, we have created moulds for their partnerships with brands including The North Face, Nike, Coach, Salomon and Clarks.
With Are You mad we crafted the Notbad Notepad. A desk notepad from local recycled plastic and 100% recycled paper provided by G F Smith and launched on Kickstarter. It is available to purchase here.
