Last week was an exciting week for the Makers. We took over Columbia Road to showcase our tools with our lovely friends over at Ishkar, a social enterprise that provides an outlet for artisans from war-torn countries to market their products. The event also included an installation of furniture-maker, Sebastion Cox’s handmade pieces, as well as fabulous natural wines supplied by Oranj.

We wanted to create some buzz around our latest innovation, Ferrule - the pencil-extender made to reduce pencil and rubber waste and what better way than at a Pop-Up Shop? With tutorials and explanations from the Makers Cabinet founders and live demonstrations by Rory Watson, a talented London-based artist, on how he uses our tools within his works, it was an experience you didn’t want to miss out on. With portrait drawings also available by Rory, we set up a drawing space for our community to join in on the fun. It was remarkable to see so many creatives from all ages and walks of life in our midst enjoying our tools.

Joining us at our Pop-up were some of the renowned Mark+Fold notebooks, making the perfect stationery pairing. We also had a small sample sale with up to 30% off tools that didn’t quite meet our high standards. All fully functional but might have some light patina, which could be made good as new with a bit of love and a quick polish.

It was great to meet so many of you at our pop-up shop over the last June weekend! We had a great time putting our tools in your hands, drinking some fabulous natural wines by Oranj, as well as sharing our latest innovation, Ferrule, a pencil-extender set to release in October 2021 on makerscabinet.com.

Missed it? Not to worry, we’re hoping to do another pop-up again very soon, and we hope to see you there.
